Vicki Brierley
Vicki has worked with the English hub from the very beginning, as both an Auditor and Literacy Specialist. Having previously led Early Years in a range of schools, she is passionate about teaching phonics and early reading. Vicki thoroughly enjoys supporting leaders and practitioners to reach every child and establish a school culture of reading for pleasure.
Hattie Callaghan
Hattie joined the English Hub as a partner school and has always been passionate about teaching phonics. She recently trained as a Literacy Specialist in 2023 and enjoys visiting and supporting schools; ensuring all children are given solid foundations that enable them to read. Alongside being a Literacy Specialist, Hattie is a full-time teacher teaching a mixed class of Reception and Year 1 at a small school in Rochdale.
Lois Davidson
Lois has worked with The Arch English Hub since it began in 2018. She is passionate about phonics and ensuring that all children learn to read. She is an Auditor alongside being a Literacy Specialist and strives for all schools to achieve their best potential. She leads phonics and early reading in her own school and loves seeing the progress that children make. She enjoys cosy nights in or sitting out in the sunshine with a good thriller book.
Amy Eckersley
Amy started the role of Literacy Specialist in September 2023 and currently is the Early Reading Leader across a Multi-Academy Trust. Amy loves reading with her children and enjoys exploring new towns and cities with her family.
Hayley Evans
Hayley joined The Arch English Hub in 2024 after leading the Rochdale PEIA project, which focused on developing phonics and early language across primary schools in Rochdale. She is keen to continue to support schools to ensure all children are fluent readers as she believes this is the key to unlocking personal and academic success. Hayley loves reading with her daughter who often wakes before sunrise and asks for a book.
Sarah Hanley-Wood
Sarah started supporting schools as a Literacy Specialist in 2021. She has experience teaching children from a variety of backgrounds across Manchester and Oldham. She is passionate about ensuring all children become fluent readers and develop a love of reading - especially those from challenging backgrounds - where it makes all the difference.
Gareth Hughes
Gareth joined the English Hub team back in 2020 and has thoroughly enjoyed supporting a wide variety of schools in the Greater Manchester area. He is the English Lead in his own school and is firmly committed to the belief that phonics and early reading is the bedrock of future success in English and the wider curriculum. You'll usually find him with a decodable book in hand.

Following successful primary teaching years and leadership experience Claire Jubb now delivers developmental training and support to schools for The Arch English Hub.
